Legal
Acceptable use
SnapSite is for pictures of public web pages. The rules below are enforced in the service where they can be, and they are still your obligation where they cannot.
Allowed
- Capturing public http and https pages you are allowed to access.
- Using the images in reports, design review, documentation, and previews.
- Calling the API with a key the operator issued, within the quota.
Not allowed
- Submitting loopback, private, link-local, or metadata addresses, including names that resolve to them.
- Trying to turn off the proxy, the sandbox, certificate checks, or the port limits. The API does not have those switches.
- Using captures to break into accounts, copy content you have no right to copy, or collect illegal material.
- Flooding the queue, sharing a key in a public repository, or putting a key in a URL.
- Asking the service to render a page that only exists on an internal network.
What happens
Blocked addresses fail before a browser is spent on them. Repeated abuse can be suspended by the operator. Suspension is tied to a hash of the client or to an API key id, not to a published list of URLs.
