Website preview images

Make a still preview of a public page for a report, a ticket, or a content card. The result is a file with an expiry time, not a live embed of someone else’s site.

A preview is a file

Download the PNG or JPEG and keep that file. SnapSite deletes its copy as soon as your browser has the image. Refreshing the page will not bring the file back.

There is no public directory of other people’s captures. The id is a long random value. Download the file before you leave, and do not rely on the link.

It is not a live thumbnail

The daily limit is sized for a person at a keyboard. A page that requests a fresh preview on every view will hit the limit. Download the file and host that copy yourself.

The picture can be stale the moment it is taken

Public pages change. A preview taken before a publish is a record of the earlier page, which is often what you wanted for a report. It is not a promise that the live URL still looks like the file.
